Me playing 'Getting to know you' from the 1951 Rodgers and Hammerstein musical 'The King and I' on my vintage 1950s Compton electronic organ - the same company who manufactured many fine cinema and church organs.
The organ uses the electrostatic method of tone generation as first developed by Leslie Bourn in the late 1920s and was recently given a full service by organ expert and electronic engineer Lucien Nunes. Nobody could have done a better job and I will forever be grateful to Lucien for his wizardry. It was only a week before that I thought that the organ had come to the end of it's useful life.
Lucien is one of the leading lights behind the 'MEET' project which stands for 'Museum of Electrical and Electronic Technology' whereby the plan is to open a museum in the Bedfordshire area where there will be all sorts of fascinating exhibits from vintage radios, film equipment, public address systems...and of course, Compton electronic organs. Here are some links to this very exciting project:

If you are on facebook then there is a page dedicated to 'MEET':

If you are able to help 'MEET' in any way then please get in touch with them via one of the above links.

REQUEST: I am always on the lookout for Compton organs to play - particularly electrones - so if you know of any churches which still have these then please do let me know. I will happily give a donation or pay any applicable room hire charge.
