Pianist's Information: Nguyen Thao Nguyen began her musical journey in 2013 under the guidance of Ms. Dao Thi Thanh Ngan, who specialised in Piano Performance and Music Theory and Pedagogy at Vietnam National Academy of Music. Throughout her training, she has consistently been an outstanding student, earning numerous awards and notable achievements.
In 2020, during the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Thao Nguyen began pursuing the AMEB (Australian Music Examination Board) Piano Repertoire certification, starting from Grade 3. She subsequently completed Grades 4, 5, and 6, and successfully achieved Grade 7 in 2025. Throughout the examinations, she was consistently recognised by the jury, including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Anh and AMEB Federal Examiner Glenn Riddle, for her strong musicality and performance ability, receiving Grade A in every examination.
In June 2025, Thao Nguyen participated in the Vietnam Regional Final of the QingYin Award, where she won Second Prize and was selected to represent Vietnam at the World Final held at Zhejiang Conservatory of Music in Hangzhou, China. At the competition, she delivered an outstanding performance of Allegro (First Movement from Sonata K.332) by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, receiving the following comment from judge Fangsui Yang: “Good performance in general. Stable in rhythm. Reasonable music thoughts.”
Competing against more than 1,000 contestants from many countries around the world, Thao Nguyen was awarded the Platinum Prize – the highest honor of the QingYin Award. This achievement marks an important milestone in her musical journey, affirming both her talent and her dedication to the art of music.
Award's Information: The QingYin Award – Youth Music Festival (QingYin Award) is a competition to discover young musical talents, aiming to build a platform for exchange and performance for top musical talents worldwide. The QingYin Award not only attracts participation from major music schools but also establishes deep collaborative relationships with many world-renowned music academies, including the Cologne Conservatory, the Mannes Conservatory, the Leipzig Conservatory, and the Royal Academy of Brussels, as well as professors from prestigious universities such as the University of Cincinnati and the Rutgers University School of Music.
The conservatories and experts on the QingYin Award's artistic council contribute not only professionally but also build bridges for young artists on the international stage.The QingYin Award boasts a renowned judging panel comprised of leading artists and music experts from various disciplines, ensuring the prestige and professionalism of the competition.
In 2025, the QingYin Award took a major step forward: collaborating with the Royal Academy of Music in Brussels to create a new era for music education and international artistic exchange. The QingYin Award promotes the global development of music education, builds bridges for international artistic exchange, and provides a platform for young musicians to showcase their talents and shine in this field.
