Dawki River Boating I Indo Bangladesh Border Checkpoint I Overnight Camping in Darrang

Описание: In today’s episode, we journeyed from Mawlynnong to the Dawki boating point, covering approximately 30 km in about an hour. Dawki, also known locally as Wah Umngot, is renowned for its crystal-clear waters. We took a 45-minute boat ride, which cost us around ₹500 per boat. The ride included stops at the Dawki river viewpoint and a scenic visit to the India-Bangladesh river border. If you’re up for it, don’t miss trying the local Bangladeshi-style Jhal Muri (known as murmura bhel in India) sold at the riverside.

Our next stop was the Indo-Bangladesh Border Checkpoint (Tamabil), located about 3 km from the boating point. Experiencing our first land border crossing was truly surreal and memorable.

From there, we headed towards the Dawki-Frankenstein Adventure Campsite, which is about 6.5 km away. We took a quick tea break at Darrang village in the Jaintia Hills before continuing our journey. Our campsite host picked us up for a short 5-minute boat transfer to the riverside camp – a peaceful spot nestled by the Dawki river. This marked our first time camping amidst nature, and it was an unforgettable experience.

We reached the campsite by 6 PM, just after sunset. The evening wrapped up with dinner around a cozy bonfire – the perfect end to a beautiful day.
