Mathnet | The Case of the Ersatz Earthquake

Описание: In this 1990 episode of Mathnet, George and Kate witness on TV a somewhat successful prediction of the previous night's minor L.A. earthquake by one Sybil Divine, and are asked to investigate by the mayor. Divine then calls a press conference claiming she will predict an upcoming Big Quake for $10,000,000, and the next quake in Los Angeles for free. Although the Mathnetters believe she cannot predict earthquakes, the building suddenly vibrates!

George and Kate later learn from Debbie that Divine was once a magician's assistant by the name of Disappearing Wanda, and had robbed a circus of $50,000. She was arrested as such a week later and did time in prison, and afterwards, over the next few years, was indicted on 7 charges of fraud and extortion, but somewhat never convicted.

Oh, and at the end of this episode, George and Kate are transferred to New York City.
