Route D8: Stagecoach London: 16984 (BV10WWM) Volvo B9TL/ Wright Gemini 2

Описание: Now time for the second video of double bill of B9s, as we move from North to East to a bus that's been through multiple hands, we have Stagecoach 16984.

BV10WWM was new in 2010 comprising a batch of Wright bodied Volvo B9TLs new as VN37854 to First London's Lew Interchange (LI) garage for use on route 58, displacing older TNL-class Tridents from the route. The bus had a short stint at Northumberland Park (NP) in 2011, but soon returned to LI. 2013 saw First withdraw from London and Tower Transit take over, the bus soon appeared on a wider variety of routes including the 25, 30, 69, 212, 262, 308, 425, 473 and night route N551. With Stagecoach taking over in July 2022, the bus became 16984 and mostly now runs on routes 58 & D8.

Today's journey sees us on route D8 which runs from Crossharbour, Asda to Stratford Bus Station via South Quay, Canary Wharf, Billingsgate Market, Poplar, Bromley-by-Bow & Bow Church. The route was introduced in 1991 but between Poplar & Bow ran via Chrisp Street, Violet Road & Campbell Road, and had to run with single-deckers due to a bridge along Campbell Road. 2016 saw the route change, swapping with route 108 to run via Bromley-by-Bow and allowing the route to run double-deck. The D8 has also had an eclectic set of operators including East London, Kentish Bus, Thamesway, First London, Go Ahead London & Tower Transit.

16984 is powered by a Euro 5 Volvo D9B engine coupled to a ZF EcoLife 6-speed automatic gearbox, and a much more spirited and acoustic run in comparison to the 58 video I released earlier. So hope you all enjoy.
