Welcome to my latest time-lapsed drawing, where I adapt a chilling still from the upcoming horror video game, Silent Hill f, set against the haunting backdrop of 1960s Japan.
In this drawing so far, we view the scene from a ground-level perspective, where only the legs of Shimizu Hinako are visible in the foreground. The viewer's gaze is drawn downward through a narrow lane flanked by imposing stone buildings, leading to a staircase that descends into darkness—hinting at the horrors that lie ahead.
During this video, I focus on bringing the distant background to life, using a combination of blending and the inversion technique with my eraser pen to create a surreal effect. Here, a pale light seeps through the mist, creating a stark contrast against the oppressive darkness of the structures surrounding the stairwell. The completed building on the left offers a glimpse of the eerie setting, while the building on the right looms even darker, constructed from shadowy stones and overlapping wooden panels that evoke a claustrophobic tension.
With each stroke, I strive to encapsulate the unsettling atmosphere that Silent Hill is renowned for. This drawing aims to not only capture the essence of the game but also transport you to a world where dread lurks just beneath the surface.
Join me on this artistic journey, and stay tuned as I finish the stairs, revealing the sinister surprise waiting to emerge from the shadows.
