It's the winter of '72, and a cold shadow stretches over the Overlook Hotel.
Concierge tells you the last caretaker—Charles something— went ape and axed his family here not two winters ago. Best not tell the wife, just campfire stories you’re sure, but you know how women are...can’t live with em’, can’t live without em’.

Outside, the snow falls in scudding sheets, sealing you within a maze of white, isolating you from the world. The Overlook, she's an old beast, hungry and mad, like a witch in the woods, and you can feel her eyes on you.

Yup, it’s gonna be a long winter…
