In this video, I use an example of the website for Cook County of Illinois (aka the SECOND most populous county IN THE NATION) as an example of what NOT to do when creating a website for a municipality or government agency. I was disappointed in how poorly designed the website is, and I shared my concerns (via another more detailed video and letter with Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle), but several weeks later, there's no change. A staff member from President Preckwinkle's office said that a redesign was underway and that it would be done by the end of September 2012 at the very latest, so... YEAH. o_O
In any event, I'm hoping this video will help other people that are looking to design or redesign their government (aka TAXPAYER-FUNDED) website, and also inform taxpayers, so that if their local government's website looks like this, they know what to tell them needs to be fixed!

UPDATE: It took MORE THAN THREE (3) YEARS for this website to be updated from the time I published this video. VERY SAD!
