Bike Lanes

Описание: As of November 1st 2014, parking or blocking a bike lane can warrant a ticket in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The General Traffic Regulations Ordinance was amended by the city to better accommodate bicycles and improve safety within our community. Section 10.45 of Article 4 of the existing ordinance now lists prohibited parking locations.

The new amendment added 2 items to that list:

-The first areas restricted are parking within or directly on a marked bike lane.
-The second is parking in any place or in any manner that will block or partially obstruct a bike lane.

These amendments recognize cycling as a supported mode of transportation in Grand Rapids. Please be mindful of these changes and of bicycles as legal roadway users.
