Swapping optics from two Vivitar Series 1 28-90mm F2.8-3.5 VMC Macro Focusing Zoom Lens.
In this video, we make one good lens, out of two bad lenses. The OM mount lens has good condition optics but an oily, and sometimes stuck aperture. The Nikon F mount lens has unremovable haze in the glass, but a perfectly working aperture. This is not a straight forward swap and makes for a very long video, essentially disassembling and reassembling two lenses in one video.
Both lenses are built by "Komine" for Vivitar with a serial number starting with 28. While they are optically similar, the multicoating is different with the "Red ring" version (Nikon F mount) having more modern looking coating.
