🔥 About Arunachaleswara Temple & History

The Arunachaleswara Temple in Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu, is one of the largest and most sacred Shiva temples in India.
It is believed to represent the Agni (Fire) element among the Pancha Bhoota (Five Elements) temples of Lord Shiva:

1️⃣ Kanchipuram – Ekambareswarar (Earth)
2️⃣ Tiruvanaikaval – Jambukeswarar (Water)
3️⃣ Chidambaram – Nataraja (Space)
4️⃣ Kalahasti – Kalahasteeswarar (Air)
5️⃣ Tiruvannamalai – Arunachaleswara (Fire) 🔥

According to ancient legends, when Lord Vishnu and Brahma once debated who was supreme, Lord Shiva appeared as a limitless pillar of fire (Jyotirlinga) — this divine fire later became the Arunachala Hill itself.

Even today, Karthika Deepam festival celebrates this event — when a huge flame is lit on top of the hill, symbolizing the eternal light of Shiva 🕉️
