If you're new to my channel, my name is Shawn McBride, licensed clinical counselor and relationship coach. I have over 20 years of experience and have personally sat in-front of over 10,000+ couples along the way. I lead the Couples Growth Skool where I help couples develop the proper systems to thrive in their relationships, not just survive.

My Story:

30+ years ago: Began doing this work with couples. Long before I ever stepped in front of anyone.

Childhood: Watched my own parents fight. Really fight. I was the little boy standing between them, hiding the knives, calling for help.

Married at 20: To the same woman I'm still married to today, 30 years later.

Early Marriage: I showed up unhealthy, unhealed, unhinged — exactly like the home I came from. Raised my voice. Became the kid version of myself. It cost my kids, my home, my peace, for years I can't get back.

The turning point: It wasn't more effort. It wasn't more love — I was already working hard and loving hard. What changed it was finally having a system to understand what was actually broken, in me and in my marriage.

20+ years ago: Became a licensed clinical therapist and relationship coach.

Since then: Sat with over 10,000+ couples. People whose names you'd recognize, sitting across from me, just as lost as anyone else.

June 2024: Started Saturday Skool for couples. A live, weekly class that became a way to teach and educate other couples on ways they can build their relationship.

2026: Still married. Still doing the work. Still learning what I teach, right alongside the people in the room.
