Pur nella semplicità della trama di un film d’avventura Disney dei primi anni 2000, in qualche modo Il Pianeta del Tesoro è riuscito a muovermi. Fin da piccolo ho sempre ritenuto la canzone una delle migliori degli 883, nel ritmo e nel testo, non sapendo che in realtà era tratta proprio da questo film, riadattata e anzi migliorata dal brano della canzone originale di John Rzeznik.
Colpisce a fondo perché rivolta, oltre che al protagonista, anche a tutti noi che stiamo attraversando il passaggio dall’adolescenza all’essere adulti ,questo periodo della vita un po’ in balia delle onde e della tempesta. Nel mezzo del turbinio dei nostri pensieri, tra lavoro, casa, futuro, c’è tuttavia anche una costante voglia di andare avanti e mettersi in gioco, di trovare un posto in questa vita, come per Jim.

Exactly 1 year ago, the eleventh of April, 2022 I finally got the chance to step into the unknown, leave the confort of everything I’ve known for 25 years and take my chances by challenging myself for the first time.
I arrived in Bolzano as a scared little boy, without knowing if I had taken the right choice, alone and confused, after quitting my studies for the second time. And now that I look back…
I cannot even describe how much I’ve experienced here in this one year, all the things that I’ve done, that I’ve learned, how much I’ve grown. But most importantly, what I now cherish the most is the people I’ve met, and what we’ve shared up until now it’s something I’ll never forget.
This song embraces all of my feelings from this past year, the need to soar on to even further heights, while not forgetting everything and everyone that helped me reach this point in my life.
