On April 9th, there was a major fire around 3rd and Market Streets in Center City Philadelphia, In response, Market Street was closed between 5th and Front Streets. The following detours took place:
Route 5 terminated at 5th and Walnut, and followed 5th Street back up to Spring Garden
Routes 17, 21, 33, 42, and 48 terminated at 5th and Market, Routes 17 and 33 took Arch over to 6th Street, then 6th Back to Market. Route 48 continued Westbound on Arch. Routes 21 and 42 took 6th All the way back down to Walnut.
Route 57 operated via 5th Street between Walnut and Spring Garden Streets Northbound.
Southbound service on routes 5 and 57 was somehow unaffected...
