The College Internship Program (CIP) is a private young adult transition program for individuals 18-26 with autism, ADHD, and other learning differences offering comprehensive and specialized services. Presentation:
Join us as we present on the important topic of self-advocacy. Our main objective is to empower and educate neurodiverse individuals on helpful strategies for effective self–advocacy. Your voice matters and knowing how and when to best self-advocate is the key to long-term success!
Participants will learn:
*How to assess self-awareness and its impact on success.
Effective strategies and how to develop a self-advocacy plan
When and how to disclose in an academic and career setting
Michele Ramsay Ed.D. holds a doctorate in Education Administration and Leadership with over 25 years of professional experience working with divergent students, families, and school districts.
Crystal Hayes M.Ed has worked in the field of education for over 20 years as a paraprofessional, teacher, liaison, advisor, and administrator. Crystal joined CIP Long Beach as a Student Advisor in 2015 and has since supported the CIP community in various capacities including Head Student Advisor, Assistant Program Director, and most recently Program Director.
