Join me on an exhilarating backcountry ski tour from Davos Monstein to the majestic Chrachenhorn peak in the Swiss Alps!
This adventure begins with a scenic ascent from Monstein to the charming hamlet of Oberalp, followed by a traverse into the expansive valley above. Heading west, I tackle the broad northwest ridge of Chrachenhorn, where the terrain gradually steepens and turns rockier.
Just below the summit, I stash my skis and climb the steep, snow-covered ridge on foot. Although rocky obstacles prevented a summit finish without an ice axe, the breathtaking views from just below were unforgettable. After soaking in the alpine panorama, I descend back to my skis for a thrilling, if slightly "unpolished", ski run to Monstein.
Filmed on a sunny, cloudless day, this high alpine tour showcases the epic snow-covered landscapes of the Swiss Alps. Don’t miss this stunning winter adventure!
