Schubert’s song cycle “Die schöne Müllerin”, written almost two hundred years ago, is one of the supreme tests of the lieder singer’s art. The duo of bariton Andrè Schuen und Daniel Heide brings to life the story of a young miller who wanders the countryside in search of work and sees his carefree world transformed within the course of the song cycle. This contrast of course requires a nuanced vocal range.

Praised by Opera Today for the “intelligence and sensitivity” of his lieder singing and by the Frankfurter Rundschau for his “unreservedly wonderful voice”, baritone Andrè Schuen is in high demand in opera and as a concert performer.
