AMD Radeon RX6800 16GB Still worth buying in 2025?
Featuring the amazing MSI RX6800 16GB Gaming X Trio tested at 1440p and 100 FPS minimum

Today we are taking a look at one of the AMD Golden Era Video cards, the RX6800 16GB. This was originally launched in late 2020, which as most of us will recall was a weird time and there were massive shortages and we had just emerged from the first major crypto boom, and then the global pandemic hit and lots of crazyness followed with stock selling out in record times, and then the price inflation due to demand.
The Nvidia side had the RTX 3090, RTX3080 and the RTX3070, with the Ti models following shortly after, so AMD had a sensibly priced card that was a little more expensive than the RTX3070 but quite easily beat it in most situations, and in some titles even beat the RTX3080 and RTX3090!

I wish that was still the case today! And back in 2020 MSI still made AMD graphics cards, and the Gaming X Trio range have always been a premium product and this is no exception, built like a tank and great thermals and noise levels.
So when I had the opportunity to make an offer of £222 for this used model, i had to try it out with my favourite games at 1440p high / ultra settings to see what it could do in 2025.
I wasn't disappointed and that 256 bit bus and 16GB VRAM certainly helps to keep this relevant.
