Emmanuel Osorno & Aura Venckunaite: : AUD Summer Lecture Series 2025

Описание: As part of UCLA AUD’s 2025 Summer Lecture Series, Emmanuel Osorno and Aura Venckunaite joined our Summer Programs community for a shared talk that explored contemporary design practice through material culture, digital representation, and interdisciplinary experimentation. Speaking to participants in TeenArch and JumpStart, Osorno and Venckunaite offered insight into their ongoing research, studio methodologies, and the evolving tools that shape architectural thinking today.

Emmanuel Osorno is an architect, designer, and founder of EOS, a Boston-based research and design practice. His work investigates the roles of images, objects, and spatial systems in shaping architectural perception. Prior to establishing his practice, Osorno spent five years at Eric Owen Moss Architects, contributing to a range of speculative and built projects. His independent work blends visual culture, material study, and experimental form-making, offering a critical lens on how architecture communicates and evolves.

Aura Venckunaite is a designer and educator whose practice bridges architecture, fashion, technology, and material exploration. A Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC), Venckunaite teaches design studios and seminars that examine emerging technologies, fabrication processes, and the cultural dimensions of form. Her interdisciplinary work includes immersive installations, sculptural objects, and experimental digital environments, reflecting a sustained interest in how materials and perception shape spatial experience. Venckunaite holds both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Architecture from UIC.
