PLOT:

The game begins with Batman escorting the Joker in the Batmobile to the asylum after capturing him during an armed siege at Gotham City Hall.

At the same time, a "mysterious fire" broke out at Blackgate Penitentiary, causing many prisoners, including a large number from the Joker's gang, to be sent to Arkham. Upon arriving at Arkham, Batman and several helmeted security guards strap the Joker to an upright stretcher and wheel him into the Intensive Treatment Center. Because the Joker seemed to give up more easily than usual, Batman accompanies the security personnel and the Joker to the holding cells. There, the Arkham staff refuses to let Batman go any further.

PLOT :

Permainan dimulai dengan Batman yang mengawal Joker dengan Batmobile ke rumah sakit jiwa setelah menangkapnya saat pengepungan bersenjata di Balai Kota Gotham.

Pada saat yang sama, "kebakaran misterius" terjadi di Lembaga Pemasyarakatan Blackgate, menyebabkan banyak tahanan, termasuk sejumlah besar anggota geng Joker, dikirim ke Arkham. Setibanya di Arkham, Batman dan beberapa petugas keamanan berhelm mengikat Joker ke tandu tegak dan membawanya ke Pusat Perawatan Intensif. Karena Joker terlihat lebih mudah menyerah dari biasanya, Batman menemani para petugas keamanan dan Joker ke sel tahanan. Di sana, staf Arkham menolak untuk membiarkan Batman pergi lebih jauh.
