This means we’re always on the lookout for the chance to jump into our Zodiac boats, shuttle you among dazzling ice formations, or take you to ruggedly beautiful shorelines. Regardless of how your particular voyage plays out, it is this spirit of spontaneity that makes each Oceanwide adventure unique no matter what we’ve planned in advance.

During your polar expedition cruise, you will have the option of partaking in such exhilarating activities as coastal walks, inland hikes, kayak excursions, mountaineering trips, photo workshops, scuba diving, skiing, snowshoeing, even camping. These exciting outdoor activities will serve to further immerse you in the amazing polar environment.

You will also have the chance to encounter wildlife you cannot see anywhere else. You might spot polar bears in Svalbard, see penguins in the Antarctic Peninsula, view musk oxen on the Greenland tundra, visit seabird colonies in the sub-Antarctic, or simply marvel at whale, seal, and seabird species seldom encountered outside of photographs.

Expedition cruises are voyage of discovery, and in our opinion, some of the best discoveries occur at unexpected moments. With this in mind, our itineraries are always designed to be as flexible as possible, taking advantage of every wildlife appearance or weather opportunity so that you will have the very best of the polar experience.

Though safety conditions involving weather, sea ice, and potentially dangerous wildlife obviously determine our final program, these clips provide a good representation of expedition travel as well as the philosophy of exploration that has guided our company for over 25 years.
