Since Steven Slate released the Blackbird Studio expansion pack and the Chris Lord-Alge pack, there are some ongoing dicussion about which of them is better. As I haven't found a detailed review of both of them, I decided to make this one.
For me it's always important to listen the samples themselves and seperately. There's nothing wrong with sound examples that come along in a musical context, but I talked a lot to other musicians who asked me about the sounds of the toms or the cymbals. So hopefully this will help you to get an overview.
Of course I could have chosen other, maybe more complex grooves, but somewhere I had to make a point and took some basic, common stuff. So I decided to provide the samples just how they sound right of the box. No EQ, no compression, all by default.
