First Walleye fishing session of the 2025/2026 Ice Fishing Season

Great first evening ice fishing for walleyes of the 25/26 ice fishing season with my son Carson.
We unloaded the car with gear after a 1 minute drive from home to a hidden semi private access point, the owners cool with me and my crew.
We Started out slow around 3 pm, with a wee tiny perch and seeing lots more on flasher.
As of film date (December 21, 2025) the sun sets at around 4:30 pm.
We had the Eskimo flip over set up with the heat on as the wind was merciless on the hands outside.
First Walter hit my acme hyper glide ( jigging rap type lure) in a perch pattern.
I also got the second Walleye and landed a nice pike on my dead stick.
When we packed up to leave Carson got the skunk out when he found a nice Walleye on the end of his tip up line when he went to grab it.
