NETWORK Lobby for Catholic Social Justice Hosted the Congress, Keep Your Promise Webinar

Описание: This spring, NETWORK's #CareNotCuts rallies in Long Island, NY, Erie, PA and Youngstown, OH. Sisters, leaders from human needs agencies, justice-seekers, and elected municipal leaders rallied together to demand that Congress avoid a debt ceiling crisis and pass a moral budget that protecting our country's safety net.

Thankfully, Congress did the right thing and voted to protect food, healthcare, and housing programs in our federal budget. But now, House extremists seek to disregard the agreement they made, choosing instead to cut vital safety net programs. And if their demands aren't met, they threaten to shut down our government.

The cuts and a shutdown would devastate the millions of people in every U.S. community struggling to care for themselves and their families. The Congress Keep Your Promises webinar presented NETWORK advocates and supporters with many of the reasons why we all must demand that Congress must act in the interest of the common good on the Child Tax Credit, the Farm Bill, the Restore Act, and more.
