Arsonist catches on fire - Greenacre

Описание: Detectives have released CCTV footage as investigations continue into a deliberately-lit fire in Sydney’s south west overnight.

Emergency services were called to Wangee Road at Greenacre about 2.15am today (Tuesday 5 May 2015), where they found a business alight.

The fire was extinguished and the business only received minor damage.

No one was injured; however, a number of residents living in an apartment block above the store were evacuated due to the smoke.

Officers from Bankstown Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene, which was forensically examined.

It’s believed the fire was deliberately lit.

As inquiries continue, detectives have released CCTV footage of a man they believe can assist with their inquiries.

He is described as being of large appearance and was wearing a grey hooded jumper.

Concerns are held for his welfare as he may have been burnt in the fire.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or who has information that may assist, to come forward.
