Описание: This video depicts a 3-day, 53-mile hike across Kodiak Island from the village of Old Harbor to the village of Larsen Bay. The route followed the river draining into Barling Bay to its headwaters, then I climbed over the spine of Kodiak to the river draining into the head of Uyak Bay, and then I used the mountains on the western edge of Uyak Bay to traverse to the end point in Larsen Bay. I saw relatively few bears as they were mostly down along the creeks feeding on salmon and I stayed high whenever possible, but the deer and goats were represented in abundance. The only downside of this trip was the atrocious brush conditions I encountered after a mild winter and early spring.
