Making mooncake at home is always more economical and plus you will enjoy the process and FUN! There are many variants of mooncake. Different types of fillings are can be used too. Here I am using White Lotus Paste and salted egg yolk filling for this Traditional Mooncake.
Ingredients :
Mooncake Skin :
Cake Flour / Hong Kong Flour 120g
Golden Syrup 70g
Peanut Oil/Vegetable Oil 30g
Alkaline Water 1/2 tsp
1 egg (for egg wash)
Filling :
Lotus Paste
Salted Egg Yolk
Mould :
170g Mooncake : 8cm Diameter mold
70g Mooncake : 5cm Diameter mold
