The whole drunken act here was a spur of the moment thing, just to explain why I had a wine glass in my hand. Obviously wasn't really drunk. Because that might violate YouTube's guidelines. As it is they seemed to have decided that my videos are not "family friendly" enough for their advertisers. I don't quite understand what the criteria are for family friendliness. My videos are not aimed at anyone in particular, mostly I'm just doing this to amuse myself. But I'm an adult man, so I'm sometimes going to be talking about sex. I try to do it euphemistically. If you don't know what a blowjob is, you're not going to get the joke, surely. Yes, I know the humour is cheesy but it lightens the tone and makes it less boring for me (and hopefully for YOU, the viewer) as I go off on a two minute exposition of the chemistry of respiration and combustion. So yeah. I wish that YT published a policy and applied it consistently. One of the funniest and most popular YouTubers, communitychannel (a.k.a. Natalie Tran) regularly makes jokes about masturbation, incest, rape and paedophilia. According to her insight statistics, a large proportion of her viewers are children. And the adverts that YouTube is running next to her videos oftten seem to offering teenage Asian brides to creepy, lonely middle-aged stalkers. (Oh look, a squirrel). I don't quite understand the double standards here. There's also a bunch of other partners who make videos about "mature" themes. Which is all cool. I'm not hating on anyone here, I just wish YT could communicate more effectively with its content providers about what its standards are, and then apply those standards consistently.
Anyway.... The point of this video is that it's usually easier to blow your ember into a flame by not actually blowing on it at all. The flameless combustion involved in a smouldering chemical reaction is basically just the oxidation of the carbon. C + 02 = CO2. One of the simplest reactions around. And the more oxygen you can get to it, the faster it goes and the more heat it releases. But because cellular processes in the body rely on a similar reaction, they produce significant amounts of carbon dioxide, which we expel in our breath.
