These CFD simulations are done to ensure optimum fish farm design by AKER SOLUTIONS.
They are Discrete Element Method simulations, coupled with Computational Fluid Dynamics.
The particles represent several fish (1-40) to reduce simulation time. They interact by biologically observed functions, representing the fish's behavior to have a comfort distance to their conspecifics.
The particles are injected at a random position with a random speed and orientation. The pattern evolves itself from chaos.
