Telugu Desam Party national president and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday alleged that the indifference of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy headed the government in taking stringent steps caused a series of attacks on temples and destruction of idols of Hindu gods.
Mr. Naidu condemned the latest attack on the Subrahmanyeswara Swamy temple and destruction of the idol in Rajahmundry and demanded the YSRCP regime to give an explanation to the people on the attack. “It is clearly evident that there is no safety and security to even the Gods under Jagan Mohan Reddy's misrule”, he flayed.
In a statement here, the former Chief Minister recalled how the three lions had vanished from the holy chariot at the Vijayawada Kanaka Durga Temple. The accused persons responsible for the torching of the sacred chariot of Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple at Antarvedi village had not been arrested so far.
The Government and the police were not showing the required attention to nab the gangs involved in these attacks, he blamed.
Mr. Naidu deplored that the YSRCP regime was dealing with a series of deth blows to the Hindu sentiment and traditions. Like nowhere else in the country, the attacks were continuing on the temples. These attacks would not have continued if the Government had taken timely action by giving stringent punishment to the guilty persons in the initial cases.
