As soon as the opening track has sprinkled Antigone's cosmic dust all over you, Interstellars podcast in the Mount Pilf series continues to ease you in with its second track, the aptly-named ‘Compound Statement’ by Abstract Division. The Barcelona based DJ takes us on a trip that involves a lot of moods, from the understated to the outright raucous, each one thoughtfully placed next to the other so as to create a loose narrative. Interstellar proves he's not afraid to step outside of the all-out dancefloor a few times, which keeps the podcast varied though consistent.
About 40 minutes in the mix the mood turns darker, from Anethas 'Acid Train' we glide into Regals ‘Acid is the Answer’, which conjures up images of a psychedelic trip into far-flung galaxies. To our great regret a technical hickup in our recording hardware caused an undesired interruption at 41:17, but we rapidly pick up pace again before introducing the harmonious rumblings of ‘Only the Strong’. The Kai Tracid anthem marks the end of a journey through music.
