Maqam Ibrahim (Arabic: مَـقَـام إِبْـرَاهِـيْـم‎‎, meaning: the standing place of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS). It is a stone, housed in a crystal box surrounded by an iron ring next to the Kaaba Sharif. The length, breadth and height of Makam Ibrahim are equal - about a cubit. Muslims believe that the stone bears the footprints of Prophet Ibrahim (AS). Footprints that have remained unchanged for more than four thousand years will remain unchanged until the Day of Judgment. Kaaba Sharif was built by Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) standing on the rock containing Maqam Ibrahim. Because of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) Miracle, the hard rock got wet and his footprints were left on it.
