I suddenly lost my internet connection, even though all of my WiFi devices showed that I was connected to my home network. After rebooting both the router and the modem, nothing seemed to help, so I finally called Verizon for assistance, but after an hour on the phone they were unable to resolve the issue and said because I had my own router they couldn't do anything more.

As it turns out, it was a simple fix, at least it seems so. I'm definitely not a techie and it was a bunch of trial and error attempts before I found the solution.

I cut the cord with cable last year and signed up for Verizon Fios to be my internet provider. Rather than rent their router for $15 a month or buy it for $300 I chose to buy my own, a Netgear Nighthawk AX3000 (https://amzn.to/34FPBSk). And the setup has worked flawlessly since installing it.

But after accidentally disconnecting the powerstrip the modem and router were plugged into, I lost the connection and no amount of testing on Verizon's end or on my end could resolve my showing I was connected to the internet but all of my WiFi devices saying there was no internet connection.
