The concept of dropping a song's drum beat on "the one" is simple. You
grab the record, cue yourself to the start point of "the one" and
launch the wax forward on beat. Yet, there are "DJs" who get hired
every weekend to play out, that cannot perform this rudimentary task.
I blame technology. Well not technology itself but the mindset behind
today's technology. Laptops and DJ apps have turned what was once an
art that was based on defying creative limits into I'll just use my
Hot Cues or look at the wav. on my Serato to find "the one".
The purpose of this tutorial is to reintroduce the aforementioned DJs
to a vital skill set every person who calls themselves a DJ must have.
