"In the times of recession you have to think twice about buying something, right? So, you buy something fabulous that you will were hundred times, that you will love, not be flippant, not bling, not cheap and chic, you know, that whole. We go to recession because of what we have done to the world, not for any other reason. There is plenty. We have to take full responsibility. So, perhaps if we went back to being a little more circumspect in living in a certain way and appreciating finer things and our way of life better, instead of just madly consuming, consuming, consuming, I think it's a better thing."

STORYLINE
TARUN TAHILIANI MIXES PAST AND PRESENT IN NEW COLLECTION
India's top designer Tarun Tahiliani presented his Fall/Winter 2009-10 collection at the Delhi fashion week on Thursday (19 MAR 2009).
Known as the 'master of drapes', Tahiliani's ready-to-wear garments were mostly evening-wear creations in shades of brown and black.
A firm believer in integrating past with the present, he has been among the pioneers of the Indian fashion industry whose expertise lies in using traditional Indian crafts and interpret them to suit the contemporary international urban look.
The collection included Western drapes, textured jerseys, pin tucks, velvet wraps and embroidered Indian saris.
The men's collection had silk pique shirts and wool-wrapped jackets.
Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone was the show-stopper for Tahiliani's show, walking the ramp in an resplendent drape.
