(a) You are given 5 numbers to put in order from smallest to largest. How many different arrangements are possible?
(b) You have some time off work and school and want to visit with 4 of your closest friends. You would prefer to meet with one of them at a time. How many different ways could you set this up?
(c) On a history test, you are given 10 events. You must choose the 3 most recent events in order. What is the probability that you guess the correct order?
(d) A radio station is holding a contest. The first number they call will win $1000. The next number they call will win $500. The next number will win $250. The last number wins $100. If there are 500 phone numbers to choose from, how many ways can these 4 winners be selected?
