Today I'm driving one of the oft-forgotten Lotus "Specials". Named after one of the company's earliest models, and also in tribute to the model code of the Elise (111) - the 2-11 is an Elise S, stripped out and reduced to its bare essentials - a lightweight aluminium tub, a screaming 1.8L Supercharged Toyota engine and that's about it. It's brilliant.
