Measuring inrush current with an AC source is often performed in manufacturing to ensure all of the power supply components are properly installed. It is simple test to setup with the AC6800 series AC power source. Typically, the largest inrush currents occur near 90 degrees phase as this is when the maximum voltage is applied. Electronic equipment can use several techniques to reduce the peak inrush current. A simple test can be performed to insure that all of the components are correctly installed and working.
