The Quine-McCluskey technique, also known as the method of prime implicants, was created by Willard V. Quine and improved upon by Edward J. McCluskey. It is used to minimise Boolean functions.
Although functionally identical to K-map, it is more effective for use in computer algorithms and provides a predictable method to determine whether a Boolean function has reached its minimum form.
The tabulation method or QM method are other names for it.
Simplify given function using Quine-McCluskey Method (QM Method)
The method involves two steps:
1. Finding all prime implicants of the function.
2. Use those prime implicants in a prime implicant chart to find the essential prime implicants of the function, as well as other prime implicants that are necessary to cover the function.
