Opposition Leader Naveen Patnaik has issued a detailed clarification regarding the Trust created in the name of Biju Patnaik in Delhi. Speaking openly, he explained that Biju Patnaik had once donated the Kalinga UNESCO Prize, and following that legacy, family members — including his brother and sister — also dedicated Anand Bhavan for public use.
Naveen Patnaik said that during his stay in Delhi after returning from Mumbai post a back operation, he decided to create a Trust in his father Biju Patnaik’s name, exclusively for public welfare. The decision was finalized after extensive consultations with lawyers and chartered accountants.
He further revealed that he personally donated ₹1 lakh from his own funds to establish the Trust, and firmly stated that no money from the BJD party fund has ever been used for this Trust.
