Join Grant as we relaunch our Faction Overview Series in the shade of the Season 6 Update with some of the best tactical minds within the "A Song of Ice & Fire: The Miniatures Game" community, the aim of this series is not only to offer advice and support to new players tentatively taking their first steps into the game but also to help experienced player understand their faction a little better.

In deepest south of the seven kingdoms can be found the searing heat and desert plains of Dorne. Governed by one of the oldest families, House Martell. Their words "Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken" directly references the fact that they have never been conquered by outsiders. Indeed, even the mighty House Targaryen were forced to implement a truce when they first came ashore. The mighty Dragons of House Targaryen were tamed by the guerrilla warfare of the Dornish. Hitting supply lines and outposts quickly before melting back into the desert avoiding the flaming wrath of their enemies.

In the game this attrition and guerrilla type warfare is reflected by a highly manoeuvrable force with a tactics deck that hamstrings the opponent, forcefully tearing out the scorpions sting before it is able to strike. You will have access to a fan favourite, in Prince Oberyn Martell famed for his martial prowess, love making and swordsmanship abilities (as well as having his eyes thumbed out by the Mountain). Alongside Oberyn comes his extended family, none more potent than his daughters the infamous sand snakes - Obara, Lady Nym, Elia & Tyene.

On the table House Martell are a faction to be reckoned with, with the enemies super elite units edging forward cautious to not make a mistake and exposing themselves - like a kitten navigating a coiled viper. But off the table, this faction comes to life. With access to some of the most powerful NCU's in the game and the first ever NCU commander, the Head of House Martell, Prince Doran Martell. In both guises, Doran brings some seriously well designed and interesting mechanics to the game that really shake up the way the opponent must play their game. Including but not restricted to a new tactics zone "The Water Gardens".
