Okay, to make it a bit more sense I'm going put all of my headcanons on this AU down here.

#1 - Nightmare can't be seen by anyone but Dream, the only way Nightmare can be seen by other people is if he lets them, if he lets them see he can't just make 1 person see him like Cpt. Puffy, so he can only be seen by just Dream or everyone else including Dream, same goes with chat messages, they can't see Nightmare's chat messages like death message etc. though whispers are an exception.

#2 - Tubbo and Dream are brothers and they know that, Tubbo got attached with Dream when they were children, Tommy and Ranboo doesn't know this, Ranboo just tried to comfort Tubbo as you can see in the video.

#3 - Tubbo tried to ignore Dream when he found out what he did to Tommy, though he was still attached to him.

#4 - Dream only had 1 canon life left so that's why he didn't respawn

That's it :] Also, don't ask what happened to Nightmare cause if I tell you I'd give spoilers on what'll happen and also some foreshadowing.
