About the series:
As an extension of the World Music Heritage Series conceived and produced by maestro Bhai Baldeep Singh for Anād Records, the YaarAnād Virtual Baithak Series aims to celebrate excellence in the field of music, arts, dance, theatre, and literature. The YaarAnād Virtual Baithak Series marks the 550th birth anniversary of Gurū Nānak Dēv, the first Gurū of the Sikhs.

The artist:
Bhai Sarabjeet Singh (Lāḍḍī) is a Hazūrī Rāgī at Sachkhanḍ Srī Harmaṅdir Sāhib (Golden Temple), Amritsar. His musical education began at an early age under his father, Sardār Bakshish Singh. His later influences were Śiromaṇī Rāgī Bhai Balbir Singh and Padmashri awardee Bhai Nirmal Singh Khalsa. A gifted tablā player, he is a student of the late Amritsarī Bāj maestro, Ustād Bhajan Lal. In 1999, he began studying Hiṅdustānī vocal music from Ustad Rohitashev Bali. He is a recipient of the Gurmat Sangeet Award (Jawaddi Taksal, 2012), Bhai Mardana award (Ferozpur), Bhai Mardana award (IIGS, Los Angeles). He has also had the honour of performing at Rashtrapati Bhavan (President's Palace), New Delhi, for the President of India, Mr. Abdul Kalam in 2002.
