The Speaker of Parliament, Annet Anita Among, has dismissed and criticized corruption allegations made by her contender, former Speaker Rebecca Kadaga.
This week, while addressing a section of NRM delegates, Rebecca Kadaga linked the recent international sanctions imposed on Speaker Anita Among to acts of corruption and dishonesty.
In response, Anita Among attributed the sanctions to her spirited fight against homosexuality in Uganda, saying they are a result of her strong stance rather than any wrongdoing. She made the remarks while meeting NRM delegates across the Busoga region.
Both Anita Among and Rebecca Kadaga are vying for the same position of NRM 2nd National Vice Chairperson – Female.
