Описание: In this video, I react to “Hi Ren” by Ren.

This is not a normal first-time reaction, and I’m not going to pretend it is. “Hi Ren” was actually the very first Ren song I ever heard. My brother sent it to me years ago, and I have listened to it a bunch since then.

The reason I held off on reacting to it is pretty simple: I had already heard it, and let’s be real, basically everybody has reacted to this song already.

But after learning more about Ren, his story, his health, his music, and the way his songs have connected with people, I wanted to come back to this one with a different perspective.

“Hi Ren” is still one of the most unique songs I have ever heard. The lyrics are incredible, the performance is insane, and the way he has a full conversation with himself is what makes this song hit so hard. A lot of artists have done the whole “battle inside my head” thing, but Ren does it differently. It does not feel like a cheesy devil-on-the-shoulder moment. It feels real. It feels uncomfortable. It feels like someone actually arguing with the part of themselves they have been stuck living with.

I also noticed something new this time with how he plays guitar, reminded me a little of Jimi Hendrix. Not saying they are the same, so everybody relax before the comment section catches fire.

This song also made me talk about my own experience with counseling, walking out of sessions, slamming doors, and not always being in the right place mentally to actually accept help. Some of what Ren says in this song connects way more than I think I realized the first time I heard it.

And the part where he talks like he will not be remembered? That is crazy to me. Ren has already helped so many people through his music. The dude made something that people come back to when they are struggling, healing, breaking, rebuilding, or just trying to understand themselves a little better.

That is not something people forget.
