Shrimp Curry Recipe - Indian Style
Ingredients:
• 2 lbs shrimp, peeled and deveined
• 1 medium onion, chopped
• 3 cloves garlic, minced
• 2 tablespoons freshly grated ginger root
• 4 tablespoons vegetable oil
• 2 teaspoons ground coriander powder
• 1 teaspoon ground cumin powder
• ½ teaspoon turmeric powder (optional)
• ¼ teaspoon chili flakes (optional for extra heat)
Instructions:
1. Heat the oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add the onion and sauté until they become soft and translucent.
2. Add in the garlic and ginger and cook until fragrant – about one minute.
3. Stir in the coriander powder, cumin powder, and turmeric (if using). Cook until the spices are fragrant and well combined – about one minute.
4. Add in the shrimp cubes and stir to coat with the spices. Cook for about 2 minutes, or until the shrimp are pink and cooked through.
5. Add chili flakes (if using) and cook for an additional minute then serve with rice or naan bread. Enjoy!
