The railways around Buenos Aires, Argentina have a wonderful variety of equipment, gauges and history.
The main terminal station at Retiro is in fact three seperate stations next to each other.
1.The broad gauge Mitre station used by TBA Third Rail EMU trains.
2. The Metre gauge Belgrano station used by Ferrovias diesel hauled suburnban trains.
3. The Broad gauge San Martin station which sees arrivals and departures of diesel hauled suburban and country trains.
The other main Terminal station is the Braod gauge Plaza Constitucion station which operates suburban EMU and Diesel hauled trains to Mar del Plata and elsewhere.
