Aerial view of Kabini river is visible flowing along its barren green and brown banks. The river flows by a barren tree. The water of the river flows calmly along the banks. The trees in the garden of Kabini River forest Lodge which is situated adjacent to the Kabini River can also be seen.
The Kabini or Kapila, is a river found in southern India. This lively river originates in Wayanad District of Kerala state, south India. The river is nourished by the water of flowing Panamaram River and Mananthavady River. Then it runs towards east to join the Kaveri River at Tirumakudal Narasipur in Karnataka. Finally the river merges into the Bay of Bengal. While flowing by the town of H D Kote this wonderful river forms the giant Kabini Reservoir. The backwoods of this reservoir are highly enriched by the presence of a rich variety of wildlife especially during summer months when the water level comes across the brims to create the affluent green meadows. Kabini Dam is sited between the Beechanahalli and Bidarahalli village of Karnataka. Kabini river bank is an ideal destination for tourists to hurl their camps. From here one can plan out a trek to nearby Tadiyadamol or Kumara Parvatha.
Named after the River Kabini, the River Kabini Lodge beckons with the promise of elephants, gaur, deer and a rumour of tiger. Located on the southern fringes of the Nagarahole National Park (Rajiv Gandhi National Park) , this former hunting lodge of the erstwhile Maharaja of Mysore was rated as One of the Top 5 Wildlife Resorts in the World by the British Tatler’s Travel Guide. A sprawling colonial estate in the heart of elephant country, the River Kabini Lodge echoes with the call of the wild.
