30 years of the Half Cab

Описание: Vans celebrates the 30th anniversary of an absolute icon, the Half Cab.

In collaboration with Vans, skateboarder and filmmaker Aurelio Ghirardelli has made a short skate edit as part of the anniversary. The music comes from super talented Zurich musician Blanche Biau. The clip features David "Tuna" Nideröst, Lukas Caprez, Sean Tien and Flavio Zimmermann.

And here's a personal anecdote about the Half Cab from one of the riders:
"When I started skateboarding in 2001, one of my first accesses was a video recording of the Münster Monster Mastership, at that time still on VHS, which I watched about 100 times. Steve Caballero was portrayed in it and so the skateboard legend was relevant to me very early on. This was probably also the reason why one of my first skate shoes was a Half Cab. If you think back to what shoes were offered in the skate stores at the time, from Vans it was models like the Rowley XLT, the Half Cab was far from what was trendy back then. I didn't care, I knew the skater and also liked the shoe for its iconic shape and classic colorway (Navy/White). Seeing the shoe still on my friends' feet 20 years later definitely triggers a great amount of nostalgia."
