Teresa Teng (January 29, 1953 -- May 8, 1995) was a Taiwanese Chinese pop singer. She is regarded as one of Asia's greatest singers, famous for her romantic ballads. She died an untimely death at the age of 42 while on holiday in Chiangmai, Thailand, supposedly from an asthma attack.

This song was written by Luo Dayou (罗大佑) and tells of the sacrifices that are made because of Love. Luo Dayou (July 20, 1954 - ) is a well known Taiwanese singer, song-writer and composer, and is often known as the Godfather of Chinese pop music. This song has become one of the signature songs of Teresa Teng.
